Non-Work Interests

I live in Bellevue, Washington, with my wife and children. Bellevue is one of the nicest small cities I've seen. The city motto is a "City within a Park," and one of the things I like best about Bellevue is the numerous parks throughout the city.

Car Wax I get an inordinate amount of satisfaction from car detailing. I enjoy all aspects of detailing, but I especially enjoy car wax. Years ago a friend made the point that no one really likes cleaning. I thought about it and pointed out that I had spent countless blissful hours cleaning my car. Some people might say I'm obsessed, but I say those people haven't yet discovered the right wax! Check out my notes on car detailing. Weather The sticker at left shows the current weather at my house, which is uploaded to the internet from my weather station. My weather station is a Davis Vantage Pro 2, which I got from Ambient Weather. I use Virtual Weather Station software to upload my weather station data to Wunderground.com.

The Wunderground interface is cool because I can check the weather at my house from anywhere. If I'm on the road, I can see exactly what the weather's been like at my house that day. It also logs detailed historical information, and it has been interesting to be able to look back a few months and see what the weather was like.

Home Theater Outside work, my interests are varied. I get a lot of satisfaction out of home improvement projects. My biggest project was building a home theater.

Home Improvement My interests in home improvement projects and car detailing came together in the epoxy floor coating I put in my garage this summer. And in a completely unrelated vein, I enjoy doing yard work, especially planting.
